Toby Keith

So Ken called me on Monday and he had just gotten back from seeing Toby Keith perform. I gave Ken a hard time that I am at home working away and staying home because I don't want to do things without him and he is playing over there going to concerts and have a great time!! Ken said I wasn't going to make him feel bad about this one. But I wouldn't be me if I didn't tease ;) He said it was a great show and they had fun!

HALFWAY!!!!!

Yesterday was the halfway mark for Ken's deployment. At least the part where I haven't seen him. It has been 16 weeks since he left and we have 16 weeks to go. On the one hand it is great.... I made it this long and it seemed to go by quickly. And on the other hand I think... I have to do that all over again?! He gets to call quite often which is great. And I haven't been commited yet so I am optimistic!! I have been blessed that Ken spends all his time in an office on the base. But he hates it of course and would rather be out in all the action. He is MR. G.I Joe. When Ken left I gave him permission to lie about things if he thought I would worry as long as he promised to tell me everything when he was home safe. So a few weeks ago he gave me some story about communications would be down so he wouldn't be able to call for a few days. At first I bought it no problem, but quickly knew it was a cover for him going out and not being able to call for a while. The few days turned into 2 weeks and even though I knew he was out there and not in his office, I felt good that he would be alright. And I was actually happy for him that he got to because he would not be happy to spend the whole deployment in an office!! But once is enough for me. He had his fun and now he has to sit back at his desk :) He sent me a slide show of some pictures that I can't figure out how to get off the video or I would post them. So instead I just included a cute one of me and Ken:) I think of him and miss him every minute of every day. It is the hardest thing having him gone, but I know we will be better for it in every way. I can't wait to have him home and am happy to be on the downward side. And summer is coming so hopefully it makes the time go even faster than the first half. I never in my life thought that I would wish for summer to go by quickly! ;) But then again I never thought I would be a soldier's wife either :) Life is just full of surprises!!!

Club Vegas!!

Thursday night by brother's band KHP played at Club Vegas in Salt Lake. They sold the most tickets so got to be the headlining show and they did so great that the club is going to book them for a weekend show. Kristian was really excited. Some friends from work came, Tom and Stefanie, and we played pool and had a lot of fun.

Happy Easter

So I haven't been the best with blogging and it is too much to go back and catch up so I will just have to try to be better from now on ;) Easter was great. We also celebrated the April birthdays on the same saturday so we had a full crazy house. I couldn't get the birthday pictures off my camera yet but I have the pictures of the egg hunt. The kids had fun! Brandi and Austin came over and joined in the fun!! :)

Scrapbooking

This last weekend I went to my brother's in Tooele to scrapbook. My sister in law Donell has pretty much everything so I go every couple of months and spend the night. Donell's sister Gina was there as well along with Donell's friend Missy. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot done. I am working on my honeymoon and I should have it finished next month when we go again :) Donovan had fun playing with all the kids there. Here they are playing coaster tycoon. I don't know what the huge headphones are about but it is freakin adorable!!! The weather was nice so the kids played out a lot. Donovan even got a little sunburned. Here they are on the swings. Donovan was taking the girls to Africa. I love their imaginations!!!!

Beans on Toast

So I think I am funny so I had to share ;) I was talking to Ken the other day about how I felt like I was failing him as his wife in the fact that I had not yet sent him something via mail. With the wonderful technology we have now he can call and we email and haven't really had a need to send anything by post. So I was asking him what he would want me to send. He said "I want for nothing". hmmmm.... want for nothing? what about the fact that your wife is in another country ;) He said as far as material things he doesn't need anything. He can get it all there and most of it is no cost to him. So after the call I was trying to think of things that he couldn't possibly get over there. Mostly English stuff that I know he likes. So I emailed him saying oh yeah what about this candy or that.. I bet you can't get that. And I am sure that you can't get beans on toast with a fried egg **see end of post for explanation** to which he replied and I quote "well are you going to send me beans on toast with a fried egg? I didn't think so" He is so sassy!!! And grossly underestimates me. So with a little imagination I posted a package off to Afghanistan yesterday and included in there was beans on toast with a fried egg!! ;) I used Melba toast, jelly beans and a plastic fried egg :) **Beans on toast is a yummy thing we English folk like for breakfast. Though we have had it for a quick easy dinner millions of times and I introduced it to Ken and he LOVES it. It is just buttered toast with baked beans (pork and beans) on top and then to spice it up we often fry and egg and put it on top. Don't knock it till you try it! It is sooooo good :)

Bogey's Presents KHP

My brother's band KHP played at Bogey's in Clearfield this weekend. They were awesome as usual. They played a new song which is a cover of Tom Jones's Delia. They rocked it.... it was great. My brother Kristian chatting with us before the show. My brothers Jake and Andrew enjoying the music :) Brian the bassist has been working on back up vocals. On one of the songs Calm before the storm his harmonys were awesome. We screamed and embarrassed him. It was awesome!!!!!
