all done

So I think that is pretty much it for past posting. We really haven't done much since just busy with the house. I will get some before and after pictures posted soon.

Bear Lake

Sunday after we checked out of the hotel we met my parents and headed up to Bear Lake for the day. We got a really late start and by the time we got there it was really cooling off. We didn't care though because we love Bear Lake and that was our first and probably only trip up there this year. The kids swam and froze to death but still had fun. They had a castle building contest though only Austin and Donovan participated :) Chunks LOVES!!! the beach. He will play for hours with the frisbee if we let him. It was a crazy busy non stop weekend but we had tons of fun and just enjoyed being together!

1 YEAR!!!!!!!

After Pineview, Ken and I headed to Salt Lake Saturday night to celebrate our first anniversary. Even though we only spent 84 days together in our first year, we had ALOT to celebrate :) We stayed at the Crystal Inn in a jacuzzi suite which is where we stayed our wedding night. So romantic... I know! It was so nice to have him there to celebrate together. We went swimming in the hotel pool the next day so don't worry we aren't naked. Just heading to the pool :) Happy Anniversary husband I love you!!!!

Pineview

Saturday August 15, Ken and I took Donovan and Michael to Pineview. It was really windy but we still had fun. We packed a lunch and went swimming and built sand castles. Michael loves the water and spent most of the time swimming out in the waves. Don't be alarmed though, he isn't as far away as he looks ;)

spare time

Friday August 14 we took Donovan to the new Sparetime by my parents house. Ken spoiled Donovan rotten. We started by bowling. Ken beat us and Donovan got a pretty good score too. Then we went and played laser tag. It was a quite during the day so we were the only people playing. I have played it before and felt dumb, but this time I got into it and had a blast. Ken of course beat us all. Whatever he is professionally trained what can we do?! Donovan was so funny we would be hiding and if he found you he would shoot you and then chase you shooting. We kept telling him to shoot and then run and hide but no I would have to run and try to lose him! Crazy kid!! And last we played miniature golf. That was fun because it was dark with black lights and everything neon and glowing. I was surprised the pictures turned out. Ken even got a hole in one! Seriously he is such a show off!!! But it really was a fun day and it was nice to finally be together as a family again.

Surprise!

Ken and I spent a few days together and then we surprised Donovan and picked him up from school. I made sure Donovan had no idea his dad was coming home. The teacher let us walk into the class room and surprise him. It was so cute and of course I balled like a big baby!! Donovan was so happy to see him. He actually was being spot lighted for his birthday that was during the summer break and they were just talking about how his Daddy was deployed so it was perfect! I took some video but of course I am a moron and turned the camera so you have to look at it sideways! If anyone knows how to rotate it I would love to know ;) Actually the part that made me cry the most which I think you might be able to hear in the background of the video was this other little boy in the class who's dad is also deployed and amongst the excitement of Ken and Donovan I heard his sad little voice say "What about my Daddy?" It broke my heart and I hope his Daddy comes home soon too. But both Donovan and I love having Ken home. Donovan was extra happy because he got out of school early and then got to sluff the next day while we went and had some fun ;)

Welcome Home Ken!!

Okay so I don't have internet at my new house so it is taking much longer to catch up on all my blogging. But I brought my laptop on the train today so hopefully I can get some things posted. First of all Ken got back August 10th!! I went by myself to meet him at the airport. It was so amazing to finally have him home. I didn't want to let go.... ever!!!! SO happy!! We stayed that night in a hotel and then headed home to see the rest of the family. Brandi helped me make a big sign for him and then went and put it up while we were gone. It looked amazing. Thanks Brandi you rock!! And my Dad got the scouts to come and put up some flags. Ken was really impressed. We don't do anything small in my family ;) Michael LOVES Ken and was so excited to see him. He was waiting at the end of the driveway and as we pulled up he had this big grin on his face and was jumping up and down waving the little flags. It was so cute it made me cry! We also went to see Ken's family. They had a sign for Ken too. It was so cute because they put an arrow to draw our attention up to it because Ken's Dad kept walking past and didn't even know it was there so they wanted to make sure we would see it ;) Welcome home Ken it is soooooo good to have you back!! I love you!!
