Girl's Day

My friend Tiffany and I try to get together once a month for some girl time. She was gone living in Maryland for 9 months but she is back now and I am soooo glad! Today we went to the mall and did some shopping. I guess that's what Ken gets for leaving for so long :P Tiffany has made me embrace my cleavage and we bought some new bras from Victoria's Secret! It was a blast. Of course I got a couple of pairs of shoes... what they were BOGO 1/2 off. How can I resist?! We also picked up some accessories to go with my wedding dress! Tiffany you are an awesome friend. I love you thanks for a fun day!

Battle Of The Bands

On Sunday the Kristian Heald Project played in the Battle of the Bands at the Avalon Theater in Salt Lake. They did awesome!! They had a lot of energy on stage and the crowd really enjoyed the performance. Here they are with their #1 fan :) Brandi and Jamie came with me and we had fun cheering them on. Here are some more loyal fans. Although the little boys did more running around than cheering. The contest is judged by crowd response so at the end they called out each band while we all screamed for the one we wanted. It was down to my brother and another band. We were all screaming like crazy! My ears were ringing and I was hoarse the next day. But it payed off because they ruled it a tie and so my brother gets to advance to the finals!!! Way to go brother :) After the concert we got to do a meet and greet because I have some connections with the band you know ;) Brandi and Jamie loved the drummer Jason Gough and so I dubbed them Gough Girls! I am sure there will be many others who will want to join. It was such a fun night.

BBQ

Saturday we went to my Auntie Julie's for a BBQ. The kids had fun swimming. And my Dad went to great lengths to stay out of the sun because it was so hot!!!

Hannah Montana

Last weekend Kristian and his band were invited to play in a biker rally in Montana. So we all loaded up and drove out there on Thursday and came home Sunday. Montana was beautiful!! It was about an 8 hour drive and thank goodness for DVD players. The kids were able to watch movies the whole way. Micheal put his head phones on and had to let his bear watch too! So cute! Half way through the first movie though, Micheal was asking if we were to Hannah Montana yet. Gotta love the Disney Channel. I wonder if he really expected to find Miley Cyrus when we got there :) We stayed at the KOA in Missoula because with kids we obviously couldn't stay at the rally. When we got there on Thursday the kids jumped in the pool but it was a little cold for me so Kristian, his wife Amiee, my Dad and I all relaxed in the hot tub. It was very nice after being in the car for so long. We then started a fire and had our usual sing along. People from other camps kept stopping by to listen! Matthew isn't 21 so couldn't go to the rally either. Which meant all the adults could go because we had a babysitter. The kids had fun in the pool while we spent Friday at the Rally

SPMC Biker Rally

We got to the rally and had to check the band in. One of the girls in the booth, Leslie made a deal with the drummer Jason that she would give him one of the rally thongs if he wore it when he played. They decided it would be best if he kept his boxers on as well thank goodness!! He put them on his face first and became the panty bandit. (They had all done quite a bit of drinking!) Here is the band. From the left: My brother Kristian, bass player Brian who was really drunk and was given one of the chick rally shirts, panty bandit drummer Jason, and electric guitar player Clint The boys played a really great set and at one point someone asked me if they were going to play on the big stage because they were way better than what was playing at the time. Always nice to hear positive feed back. By the time they played though Brian could hardly stand up. He actually face planted it during sound check. It was hilarious watching him stagger all over the stage. In the middle of a song Kristian had to tell him to back up because he was about to fall off the stage. As drunk as he was though he still was able to play! I was quite surprised and very entertained. And Jason true to his word dropped his pants on stage! People kept showing up to see the swaying bass player and panty wearing drummer!! I knew there was a reason I don't drink!!

The Big Stage

Saturday they played on the big stage and it was awesome. They had professional sound guys and the mix was incredible. There was just the Utah fan club there when they started playing but as they got into it they drew quite a crowd. It was really fun. Way to go Kristian Heald Project. You guys were awesome!!!! If you want to see more check out my brothers website www.khsongs.com We had a really great time and it was well worth the trip!!

Father's Day

So I am a little late with the posting but life is so busy!! Ken is in the National Guard and had to leave for 2 weeks of training so we had to celebrate Father's Day on the Wednesday before. Donovan really wanted to get Ken a Starwars card but they were all sold out so we decided on a superman card instead. Thanks for being our super hero Ken!!!

Engaged!!!!

We climbed up on rock and had a picnic when we got to the waterfall and it was so beautiful. We sat enjoying the view and Ken commented that it was such a perfect day. He then said that the only thing that could make it even more perfect was if I agreed to be his wife! As I turned he had the ring in his hand. I said yes and cried. I actually said "Shut your freaking mouth!" when I saw the ring. So romantic I know. It was so cute and because we were on the side of the mountain he hadn't gotten on his knee, but he struggled and got on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I said yes a little nicer this time and snapped some pictures so we would always remember one of the best days ever!!!!!

Waterfall Canyon

06/07/08 Ken and I went for a hike up Waterfall Canyon. We took our time and had a blast. Ken is such a monkey and had to climb everything. So I had to show him that I could do it too!:)

Burt's Tiki Lounge

So I have to warn you that there will be lots of pictures of my brother's shows. I think I have only ever missed one or two and that was only because it couldn't be helped. Monday he played with the band at Burt's Tiki Lounge in Salt Lake. Kristian has played there before but this was the first time as The Kristian Heald Project. They had really great crowd response and some girls were even up dancing. They did really great. Next week we are all heading to Montana because Kristian was invited to play at a biker rally there. Kind of funny thinking of me with a bunch of bikers eh? But I have a brand new pair of leathers so I should fit right in!! ;)
Left is Brian on bass (sorry the lighting sucks) Kristian up front- Jason on drums-Clint on lead guitar. Way to go boys you rock!!

Outdoor Fun

05/30/2008 It was Ken's Mum's birthday so we went over to their house for the day. Ken's parents (Cathy and Duane) have an awesome back yard. They have been working hard extending the patio so Ken helped them plant some flowers around the outside and then we played. Ken and his two brother's were fighting a punching bag while the rest of us sat there and laughed. Then we got on the trampoline like little kids. I think Cathy had the most fun!! Then we brought out the go cart which was stored for the winter. It didn't take much to get it going and then off we went around the yard. It was really fun!

FOUR!!!!

Saturday 05/30/2008

Ken and I went to Schneiter's Bluff and hit a bucket of balls. I have never been to a real golf course before so it was quite interesting. I didn't do too bad for my first time. Ken was hitting them like a pro! He was as shocked as I was :)

Nice swing!!

Battle of the Bands

Sunday 05/24/2008 Alex is the second from the left.

Ken's 16 year old brother Alex is an awesome guitar player and is in a Christian Rock Band called Phoenix Rising. With both of us having talented brothers, you would think we would have gotten some musical talent as well. Not so much... oh well. We get to appreciate it :) Alex's band was invited to the Battle of the Bands at the Avalon Theater in Salt Lake. They sounded awesome and it was a really fun show. I thought they sounded the best and the judges agreed because they won first place!!! They get to compete again in July for recording time and cash. Kristian was invited as well and he plays June 22. We may end up having our brother's competing. Way to Alex!! Ken and I enjoying the show. The crowd was screaming so loud our ears were ringing when we left.
