Dye-saster!

So I had some blonde highlights for a while and I am manic about grow out and felt my roots were getting pretty bad. Ken was coming home in a few days so I decided I better dye my hair before he got home. It is so expensive to go have it done and not always convenient so I had Brandi come and help me do it myself. I decided to go red this time. I have done it before and really liked it. Brandi started putting the dye on my hair and got one side done and didn't realize just how thick my hair is. We ran out of dye really quick and so were struggling to get the dye even over all my hair. Brandi did what she could and we both hoped for the best!! Well I loved the red color but it was quite uneven when it was all dry. I should really leave it up to the professionals! (sorry Desiree') I decided I couldn't live with it the way it was so we headed to the store for something to fix it. I chose to just go dark brown to cover it up. And we were smart and bought two boxes!! We had plenty of dye this time but again my hair is thick and so when I dried it, we missed some spots and the red still shows through. I can live with it though because they look like peek-a-boo highlights ;) We had fun and I don't think it turned out too bad. But I think I am done with the DIY. I will be heading to the salon for the next one. It actually turned out much darker than I thought but it has grown on me and Ken likes it so... all's well that ends well :)

Sleep Over

So Friday night I finally got to talk to Ken on the phone. I hadn't heard from him for 9 days!!! I was going crazy. It was amazing to talk to him but I was upset because we had to talk about worst case and make funeral arrangements. It was absolutely awful. So I was pretty emotional after the call and so Brandi said come over and we will have a sleep over. Brandi drug her mattress in the living room and it was a sea of blankets and pillows. We laughed and had a great time and I forgot all about being sad. Thank you Brandi you are the best!! In the morning we made cinnamon rolls and juice and then vegged all day. And I mean ALL DAY! We were so greasy and lazy and it was awesome. The boys just played and watched tv. They played super heroes too! I took some pics of me and Brandi but really we were not presentable so we were hiding :)

SO MAD!!

So I am not one to ever change my background on here but everyone else's is so festive so I thought I would do it. Well I changed it and lost all my gadgets on the side!!!! I was so mad! I was worried I would but figured there is no way that everyone reloads everything when the change so I didn't really think it would happen. Guess I am a big dummy!! Ugh!!

Christmas Party

So Saturday was our ward Christmas party. My parents were in charge so I had to go to wrestle the kids. I invited Brandi and Austin so it would be bearable ;). The boys had a fun time playing together. They had the Syracuse High School choir there and they did a great job. Santa was there and he brought his wife. The kids loved it. Austin was a little nervous at first but when he saw Michael and Donovan run up to see him he quickly forgot all about it:) They all asked Santa for the same thing... a light saber. hmmmm we will just have to wait and see what he brings :) Of course Brandi and I had to join in the fun too. Then Brandi and I left all the kids with my family and did a little shopping. Good Times!!

Girl's night out

Well since it was my birthday last sunday, and Miss Brandi's big 30th birthday today (Happy Birthday Brandi!!) I decided to get a hotel in Salt Lake for some girls time. Amy and Brandi met at my house and we headed to Salt Lake. We stopped at the Old Navy in the Gateway to get some pj's. We ended up getting matching "I've been naughty" shirts. We thought they were fitting for the occasion! Here we are goofing off in the store. Outside at the Gateway. We then met up with Shannon and Destini at PF Changs. The food was yummy and we had a lot of fun. We laughed and chatted for a while. I just want to say how grateful I am to have such a wonderful group of friends. Our lives are all unique and we all walk our different paths but I feel so blessed that we have been able to be there for each other and make the time to get together. I truly cherish you all! (And that goes for all my friends even the ones who weren't with us this weekend!!) Sadly Destini and Shannon couldn't stay so after dinner they headed home and Brandi, Amy and I headed to the hotel. We stayed at the Marriot. We overlooked the Galavan Center and had a blast watching the ice skaters below. We laughed and made jokes about what was going on down there... the show offs, the "daters", the people falling. It may sound kind of boring but we thought we were pretty funny. We laughed until we almost wet our pants and we did have a pregnant lady with us (That would be Amy, just to avoid any confusion) and so there were a few times we had to stop walking to avoid disaster. I even had to pause to regain control. We really had so much fun. We laughed and talked until about 2:00am. This is us hanging out. Brandi modeled the hotel robe!! And here are the Naughty Girls.... In the morning we went to Denny's for breakfast. We ate alot and laughed a lot!! Thanks girls for an amazing time! We will have to do it again for sure :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We always have a million people at our house for the holiday. And one more than expected... I love you husband! We had a grown up table and a kid table upstairs. We had a lot of yummy food!! We also celebrated the November birthdays since all the family was already together. Happy Birthday to me, Chloe, Alaster, Robyn and her boyfriend Adam! :) It is tradition for the women to go shopping after lunch. We had fun as usual and got a lot of Christmas shopping done. In the evening we have a big buffet and hang out. Some how we got into some contest of who looked the funniest in a batman mask... yeah I don't get it either but we were all laughing. My Dad started us off. Then Auntie Julie took her turn. Who is that sexy girl? ;) I think Michael wins!!

Special Delivery

So it was nearing the end of the work day yesterday when our building Security guard came to my desk and said I had a package downstairs. Weird I wasn't expecting anything so I asked her if it was a bomb :) Thankfully she said no and so we headed downstairs. I was racking my brain trying to think if I had a client that was sending something in. It isn't a strange thing to have them send something off the wall but I couldn't come up with anything. Then it hit me that maybe Ken had sent me flowers for my birthday! He isn't really the type for flowers but I know he was sad to have to miss my birthday and we had talked about another soldier who had sent his wife flowers so I knew it was in his head. But then I thought nah because it was too early for my birthday. Well I stepped of the elevator and there was a single red rose waiting for me..... and Ken was holding it!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! My deployed soldier husband who is in Indiana and I don't get to see until December 18th (note the counter on the right) is standing in front of me?! I was stunned. They had a few days off for Thanksgiving so four of them decided to rent a car and drive the 21 hours home for the holiday. I still can't believe it. I kept asking him if he was really here! :) Isn't he the best husband ever!!!!!!!!!??? You can't have him he is all mine!!! They have to drive back at Midnight Saturday night but he is going to wait a few minutes until it is Sunday so he can give me a kiss for my birthday! I am so happy:) and shocked!! This is already the best Thanksgiving to date!! :) Thank you Ken I love you so much and this is better than any gift you could buy, yes even the Laptop you got me ;)

Spirit Day

So I picked Donovan up on Thursday to spend the weekend and he asks me if I have any rings he can borrow. Strange request.... he says it is spirit day at school tomorrow and he needs to bring rings or a necklace or bracelet to school to celebrate. Not really sure what jewelry has to do with spirit day but we have a giant box of beads left from my jewelry making days and so I told him we could make a necklace. We had fun picking out the beads and making a pattern. He helped me string the beads and he was very happy with the finished product!! We had to take a picture and email it to Ken because he was so proud of his work :)

Tony Grove

So last weekend my Dad decided he wanted to go for a drive in the mountains. He wanted to go hiking and let the kids run wild and get muddy. (Not sure what got into him) so we piled into the cars and headed up Logan Canyon. We ended up at Tony Grove and SNOW!! It was so quiet and peaceful. And my Dad got his wish because muddy we were. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed being outdoors. My cute boys! Ahh! We love each other Big Foot lives!! He is my brother Matthew ;) I had to prove that we indeed got muddy. We were wet and dirty but had a lot of fun. Shoes and socks and pants all came off when we got in the car and we rode home warm wrapped in blankets. Good times!!

Baby Blessing

So my sweet friend Cat invited me to the blessing of her son Jackson. They waited a long time for him and it was awesome to see them so happy. Apple Jacks is so adorable and I even got a cuddle before the blessing. He was smiling at me the whole time! (all the boys love me what can I say) Brandi came with me because I hate going places by myself. Thanks Brandi :) We had the camera taken pictures of the happy family and so decided we needed some pictures of us with the boys. It was hard to keep them focused though because they found a grasshopper and that is all they wanted to do. Made for a cute picture though!

Halloween Party

So the girls got together for our Halloween party on Friday. It was so much fun. The kids were adorable and we had a pinata and decorated cookies. I took a million pictures so it was hard to pick :) This was the hardest part. That is a lot of kids to get all sat down looking the same direction. Not too bad I thought though. We were lucky to have such a nice day and we could keep all the mess outside. The Mom's even joined in on the decorating. They were yummy fresh cookies!! Thanks Destini for the hook-up :) We had a human ladder worked out to hang the pinata. We probably shouldn't of had the pregnant girl doing it though!!! Then the kids sat down and waited their turn. ( some better than others) It was so cute watching all the kids swinging away. Even the little kids joined in. I think every kid got 2 turns and it was Donovan who finally beheaded the witch!! Then the kids scrambled for candy! It is always fun to get together with good friends. Thanks for a fun day girls!! And Brandi and Stacie you better be at the next one!!!
