New Do!!

For those of you who don't know already Ken is being deployed :( He is leaving for the first part of training in less than 3 weeks. I told him that while he was gone I was going to chop all my hair off and dye it blonde! Not sure what I expected to accomplish with such a threat but I thought at the time "That will teach him for leaving" Well it got me thinking that I have been ready for a change for a while so why wait until he is gone?.... So I went to the salon and made a change. I posted a before and after... quite a change :) I ended up with quite a pony tail. I plan to donate it to Locks of Love and since I never sent it in the first time I chopped my hair a few years ago, I figure 2 pony tails will be the motivation that I need :)

Priesthood

This last Sunday was an amazing day. Ken was ordained to the office of a Priest. Our good friends the Arrington's were there and Bro. Arrington set Ken apart. The Arringtons have been so amazing and have been there during Ken's conversion. They opened their home and hearts to us and are incredible people. I am so thankful to Ken and his willingness to search and study the gospel. I always imagined my life going in a different order, but it truly has been a blessing to be beside Ken on this amazing journey. He is an incredible strong spirit and I wouldn't want things any other way. I love you Ken, congratulations!!

Happy Birthday Ken

Ken's birthday is August 29th, but lucky for him we actually celebrated multiple times. The day of his birthday we had a little celebration with my family. My gift was on order and Ken was leaving to Florida the next day for a week of military training so his gift from me would have to wait. I gave him some DVD's and an awesome new 80GB Ipod when he got back!! He has the best wife ever I know!! Then the next week we went to Ken's parents house and celebrated again. I love you Ken and I am thankful every day that I get to be your wife! Happy Birthday

Shower

So my wonderful friends gave me a shower at the beginning of this month. They decided to wait until after the wedding when things calmed down a bit. It was so nice to get together and I got some fantastic gifts. Thanks so much guys I love you all:) They even gave me a crown to wear which is fitting since I am the princess!! ;) Sorry Stacie and Destini. I don't know why I ended up with no pictures of you. I blame Shannon, she was in charge of my camera :)

Hawaii Honeymoon!!!

Okay Sara are you happy now? I am finally blogging our honeymoon pictures as promised :) I kept putting it off because I felt quite overwhelmed trying to decide which pictures to use. We took 1200 pictures after all. Yes you heard correct 1200!!! Alot of them are pictures underwater that Ken took whilst snorkeling. We had a blast!! So I apologize ahead of time for the quantity of pictures. It was really hard to choose :) So here goes... we went straight from the wedding to the Crystal Inn in Salt Lake for the first night. It had a king size jacuzzi tub and I had to include this picture because I laughed so hard. Ken filled the tub and put half a bottle of bubble bath and then turned on the jets. I had to stand on the side of the tub to be able to take the picture because I couldn't see him. Again I laughed hysterically!! So romantic I know :) So we headed to the airport Sunday morning for a 7:30 am flight to KONA HAWAII!!! Yay for us:) We connected in Phoenix. Here we are at the airport in Arizona. We landed in Hawaii and it had just rained so it was hot and humid. The weather was nice the whole time we were there. I loved how everything was outside. Even the airport. The waiting areas just had grass hut roofs over them. And that was the case everywhere. The hotels, restaurants, everything was all open and outside. We got our rental car and headed to the hotel. Of course once we had settled I headed straight for the Dolphin Lagoon and we had dinner while the sun was setting and watched the dolphins swim. It was perfect!! We paid for a charter boat to take us snorkeling the next day. We actually got to scuba dive as well. They even caught a sword fish while we were heading out to the dive site so that was exciting. We also took a submarine ride and got to see 100 feet down with out getting wet! It was nice but as a diver it bugged me a little not to be able to just go where ever I wanted :) After the sub we stopped at a jewelry store and picked an oyster. It was fun. I was told the trick is to pick the ugliest one for the best pearl. The woman had me tap it three times and we all had to shout aloha. Not really sure why but I guess it worked because when she was opening it, she was feeling for the pearl and asked if we were newly weds, when we said yes she said that makes sense then because you have twins!! And pretty ones too :) I had them set as earings.

Hotel

We stayed at the Hilton at Waikoloa Village. It was huge. I think Ken said it is on 60 acres. They had a boat or a train that would take you from place to place in the hotel. They had parrots in the lobby and it felt very tropical. Like I said everything was outside so we had some incredible views. We had some really good food too. I even ate clams right out of the shell which is a big step for me! Everywhere we went, people would ask if we were newly weds. I guess we had that look. The sub captain said she knew because of how much my ring sparkled. We loved to hear it though and our hotel even gave us a little upgrade and sent sparkling cider to our room. You would think we got enough of swimming at the beach but we had to enjoy the hotel pool as well. They had a water slide that we played on too!

Snorkeling

We went snorkeling everyday and took tons of pictures. There were just hundreds of fish everywhere. They weren't even really bothered we were there. One even followed us around for a while. It was funny. The pictures don't really do justice to the vibrant colors of the fish and coral. Kona is a lot of lava rock which underwater the coral attaches to and grows and grows. We saw tons of different types of fish, moray eels and I even held a sea cucumber. It was really squishy :) We also saw tons of sea turtles both in and out of the water. They were at every place we went. They are federally protected and you aren't allowed to touch them but when they swim right past you who is going to know right?! They were incredible to watch swimming around and eating. One day at the Lagoon in the hotel, we were watching one swim a few feet away and I lifted my head up to talk to Ken, and when I put my face back in the water the turtle was right there in my face! He actually bumped into my mask. I was so shocked and screamed and kicked my legs back which made my legs cramp and then I had to roll over and have Ken stretch them out. The turtle just swam off thinking what a weirdo... it was really funny :) Although most of Kona is lava, we were able to find some really nice beaches. The water was so clear and warm. Good thing because that is where we spent most of our time!! We both came home rather tan actually.
