MAN MAID!!!! :)

The other day I was saying how nice it would be to have a maid. Not that we are that messy since it's only Ken and I and Donovan half the time. But still it would be nice :) Well the next day my brother Matthew called asking if we had any jobs he could do to earn money as he was laid off and needed a few extra dollars. Perfect!!!!! I quite happily put him to work. As gross as it is, our basement bathroom hadn't been cleaned yet. We have 3 and I was so sick of the deep cleaning that I hadn't got around to scrubbing the one downstairs that never gets used. Perfect job for my maid. :) Of course I had him do the jobs I didn't want to. So he scrubbed away at the nasty bathroom and cleaned the other 2 while he was at it. He then finished painting all our interior doors that have been piled in the garage since we moved in. It has been driving me crazy that half our rooms and closets don't have doors, but I was so burned out from painting the whole house (thanks again to everyone who helped) that I kept putting it off. But Matthew finished them all and Ken hung them all up and I am so happy. It looks awesome :) Thanks Man Maid.

Our First Tree

Saturday we put up our very first Christmas Tree. I had such a hard time trying to decide what to decorate it with. I think it turned out pretty good though. Donovan had fun helping though he had to leave before it was finished. He is excited to come back and see the finished product.

Happy birthday to me!!!!

Look what Ken got me for my birthday this year..... HA HA HA, just kidding. Ken was just showing my brother the gun he bought on deployment while we had the camera out. But Ken bought my present earlier than the day of my birthday and so he just couldn't wait to give it to me :) He used the excuse that I needed to open it while we had Donovan so I agreed. I was so excited, he got me a big new fancy camera!!!!!!! I love it!! He is the best husband ever!!

Old Friends, New Moon

Stacie and Brandi and I went to see New Moon tonight. It was super fun and I loved the movie!! WAY better than the first one. We sat in the parking lot laughing for ages after. Good times girls thanks!!! The best part was when the Mall security walked over to the car to tell us to leave.... and I warned them that someone was coming but Stacie and Brandi screamed bloody murder. It was hilarious. Stacie was scratching at the door trying to lock it and Brandi was fumbling in the driver's seat trying to remember how to drive. Hysterical!!!!! Love you guys :)

November Birthdays

Last weekend we went to my parents to celebrate the November birthdays which are Alaster, my cousin Robyn, her fiance Adam, Chloe and ME!!! Since there are so many of us we buy gifts for the children up until 18 then you only get gifts on the big birthdays. Lucky for me that is this year!!! Everyone pitched it and bought me a new light for my dinning room. It is so cute I love it!!! Chloe decided she would wait for her gift from me and we would go shopping together so she could pick something out. This weekend we went to Rue 21 to find her a new outfit. We found some really cute things but they were having some kind of coupon sale that we didn't know about and the store was PACKED!!!! The line to pay was ridiculous!! They only had 2 registers and the lines wrapped around the whole store. We waited forever. But we had fun and Chloe got a cute new outfit for her birthday :)

Great Gap

Donovan's front tooth has been hanging on by a thread for a while now. He said to me the other day that he really hopes that it falls out before Christmas so he can say... All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth! Well he got his wish yesterday at school. He was so excited too because if you lose your tooth at school you get a sticker which says Lost Tooth Club and a tooth necklace to keep your tooth safe in. He was super happy!!

Unexpected Wall

When we first bought our house, my oldest brother Colin and his wife Donell were over checking it out. The basement has a bedroom and bathroom finished but the rest is all open concrete. Donell commented how silly it was that they didn't put a wall and door up to close off the unfinished portion. I agreed and we talked about how nice it would be and that it wouldn't really take much to do. I hate that you can see my laundry if you open the basement door. But it ended there and I thought nothing more of it since. Well, we invited Colin and his family over for dinner last night and when they arrived Donell said that Colin is going to measure for the wall. I was shocked! I wasn't sure I had even mentioned to Ken that I wanted a wall there. But Colin and Donell are working on finishing their basement before Christmas. Colin just finished framing his house (and enjoys it! I think he's crazy) and Donell figured while he had all the equipment needed, he could come over and do ours as well. So in a matter of a few hours we decided to build a wall!!!! We went to the store this morning and bought the studs and Colin came over and the boys got to work. It didn't take very long and we have a framed wall! So exciting :)

Recording

Saturday we were over at my brother Jake's and KHP were working on the recording of their first song. I only had my phone with me so the pictures aren't the best. Jake has a pretty sweet recording studio going on in his basement and it was fun to see the process. Jason, the drummer was working on getting the drums recorded just right. Kristian is working on the vocals tonight so hopefully they will have a song finished soon. I can't wait :) Love you KHP!!!!

Double Bogey

My brother's band, KHP, were asked to play at Bogey's Friday and Saturday night to start off the Halloween festivities. They did an awesome job and it was a fun show. They did some of their old stuff which they haven't played for a while which was awesome along with all their new stuff. They rocked it !! And man the crazies were out both nights!!! I had fun people watching. Friday night after the show Ken and I went to his soldier buddy's house for a Halloween party. It was tons of fun and we stayed out way to late. Ken and I aren't into dressing up but we made an attempt this year and it was pretty fun. Friday night Ken was a devil and I was an angel. I don't have pictures of this but it was just a headband so nothing fancy. Then Saturday Ken was the devil again and I was a pirate. I am amazed every year how girls feel Halloween is a free pass to whore it up. I saw way more than I wanted to!!! And Ken almost got me to whore it up a little.... almost. I couldn't do it, and I am a good girl so it wasn't really whoring at all. Oh well :) Ken's parents came to Bogey's Saturday night and we played pool. It was a lot of fun. My parents and my Auntie Julie and Uncle Dave came as well. Kristian wore his Mad Tatter Hat and Brian the bassist was Mario :)

Little Miss Averee

Well as promised Stacie, if you even get on here anymore, I figured I better blog about Averee's birthday since you never do ;) (I'm a little slow...whatever!) Ken and I went over to Stacie and Jerid's September 25 to celebrate little Averee's birthday. We were outside in the back yard. Averee was so funny because she had scratched herself and was bleeding right before, so as Stacie was trying to get her to sit and open presents, all she was worried about was getting a bandaid! Then she looked so pained as she opened her presents. But despite the expression on her face, I think she was really excited with everything she got :) This was a gift from her cousin and it was a doll wrapped in 500 layers of tissue paper (no joke) and she thought that was great and squealed after every layer :) Of course no birthday is complete without an awesome cake courtesy of Stacie Stewart... Brandi and Austin were there too :) It was so good to see everyone since life has been so crazy with Ken getting home and sorting out the house.... I miss everyone :) We had cake and ice-cream and had a good time. Thanks for the invite and Happy Birthday Averee :)

all done

So I think that is pretty much it for past posting. We really haven't done much since just busy with the house. I will get some before and after pictures posted soon.

Bear Lake

Sunday after we checked out of the hotel we met my parents and headed up to Bear Lake for the day. We got a really late start and by the time we got there it was really cooling off. We didn't care though because we love Bear Lake and that was our first and probably only trip up there this year. The kids swam and froze to death but still had fun. They had a castle building contest though only Austin and Donovan participated :) Chunks LOVES!!! the beach. He will play for hours with the frisbee if we let him. It was a crazy busy non stop weekend but we had tons of fun and just enjoyed being together!

1 YEAR!!!!!!!

After Pineview, Ken and I headed to Salt Lake Saturday night to celebrate our first anniversary. Even though we only spent 84 days together in our first year, we had ALOT to celebrate :) We stayed at the Crystal Inn in a jacuzzi suite which is where we stayed our wedding night. So romantic... I know! It was so nice to have him there to celebrate together. We went swimming in the hotel pool the next day so don't worry we aren't naked. Just heading to the pool :) Happy Anniversary husband I love you!!!!

Pineview

Saturday August 15, Ken and I took Donovan and Michael to Pineview. It was really windy but we still had fun. We packed a lunch and went swimming and built sand castles. Michael loves the water and spent most of the time swimming out in the waves. Don't be alarmed though, he isn't as far away as he looks ;)

spare time

Friday August 14 we took Donovan to the new Sparetime by my parents house. Ken spoiled Donovan rotten. We started by bowling. Ken beat us and Donovan got a pretty good score too. Then we went and played laser tag. It was a quite during the day so we were the only people playing. I have played it before and felt dumb, but this time I got into it and had a blast. Ken of course beat us all. Whatever he is professionally trained what can we do?! Donovan was so funny we would be hiding and if he found you he would shoot you and then chase you shooting. We kept telling him to shoot and then run and hide but no I would have to run and try to lose him! Crazy kid!! And last we played miniature golf. That was fun because it was dark with black lights and everything neon and glowing. I was surprised the pictures turned out. Ken even got a hole in one! Seriously he is such a show off!!! But it really was a fun day and it was nice to finally be together as a family again.
